Allana were one team and Dale and I were the other Sammy thinks basketball is boring but he knows a lot about it because his older sister plays it so he volunteered to be the referee Darien thinks basketball is even more boring than Sammy does so he just sat on a swing playing on his phone Even though we were on the court and LJ was on the foul line getting ready to shoot her free throw I kept thinking about The Goonies I felt like my group of friends was just like those kids
Before LJ could shoot I said I think we should come up with a name for our group Everyone knows I’m The Outlaw Do they Sammy asked Yeah I’m pretty sure everyone calls you Robin Hood now LJ said
It’s like 50 percent The Outlaw 50 percent Robin Hood I said More like 99 percent Robin Hood Allana said And 1 percent Robin Loxley Dale said They all laughed and I had to laugh with them You see our school has a reward system called Bonus Bucks where you can earn bucks toward cool privileges But this girl Nadia had set up a tax and charged bucks to do anything on the playground which was super unfair So last week LJ and I had rescued every Bonus Buck from Nadia’s desk
We had returned the bucks to all the kids in school along with a note from The 5th Grade Outlaw I thought the name Outlaw would stick but during a big showdown where I played one on one basketball against this meanie Ty Lisborn kids started cheering for Robin Hood I guess they called me that because I’m always wearing a hoodie Now everyone calls me that I tried saying Hey what about Basketball Goddess but yeah they didn’t go for that either Anyway I said while laughing I just think it would be cool to have
