to make his NHL debut in his home state in front of many friends and family as part of an extraordinary night The amazing run of events began on March 24 2017 That night Boeser’s sophomore season at the University of North Dakota ended in a tough double overtime playoff loss in the first round of the National Collegiate Athletic Association NCAA tournament The next morning he signed with the Vancouver Canucks Hours later the 20-year-old was dressing with his new Canucks teammates in the visitors locker room at the Xcel Energy Center Talk about a whirlwind of 24 hours To make a special night even better Canucks coach Willie Desjardins came up
