Even squinting the light blinded the Man of Steel His vision blurred and went fuzzy As the effects coursed through his body his legs wobbled and he lost his balance Kalibak used the opportunity to attack Look out yelled Wonder Woman Charging forward with thunderous footsteps Kalibak swung his sword at Superman But Batman stepped in tackling the Man of Steel out of the way as the sword sliced a parked car in half SKRANNGG
Superman crouched on the ground and blinked his eyes His vision slowly returned With his arm around Batman’s shoulder he struggled back to his feet What just happened asked the Man of Steel Why did that weapon affect me It’s not a normal sword but one forged by magic Batman answered He knew Superman had a weakness to items of a magical nature I recognized it the moment Kalibak pulled it out It’s Excalibur King Arthur’s sword I thought it was a myth How do you know asked Superman Because I gave it as a gift to a close friend answered the Dark Knight That’s some friend I normally only get gift cards The Flash said with a wink Talk later Wonder Woman said nodding toward Kalibak Fight now Reaching into his Utility Belt Batman removed a round object and threw it toward Kalibak FSSSHHH The smoke grenade exploded creating a thick cloud around him But the smoke bomb barely provided cover Kalibak simply walked through it You’ll have to do better than that human he said Reaching for his Utility Belt Batman gripped a bolo The rope had two heavy metal balls at each end that could entangle almost any enemy The Dark Knight whipped the weapon toward Kalibak The villain’s large size prevented him from dodging and the rope wrapped around his huge body But it didn’t hold him for long Kalibak used Excalibur’s sharp blade to slash through the rope like butter A wide toothy smile stretched across the villain’s face Batman met it with a punch KRAK You dare hit me puny one yelled Kalibak in outrage Before the villain uttered a second insult Batman punched Kalibak’s midsection Like a boxer he landed rapid jabs to the villain’s pressure points The Dark Knight knew he couldn’t keep up his attack for long But he hoped he might have just enough strength to knock Kalibak down for the count Instead he left himself open for attack With his two large fists Kalibak snagged Batman by his long leathery cape He swung him in a wide circle before releasing the Caped Crusader CRIKK Batman crashed into a nearby building with enough force to crack the
wall and send bricks flying Be careful warned Batman leaning against the wall to push himself back to his feet Keep your distance from him That’s good advice Why didn’t you try it said Wonder Woman with a smile Maybe if I’m quick enough I won’t have to said The Flash He dashed toward Kalibak to stop him With paper debris floating up into the air around him The Flash circled Kalibak’s body in a blur of red motion Kalibak swung his sword over and over but The Flash dodged before it could connect each time Foolish insect spat Kalibak winded and annoyed Stay still so I can swat you The Flash stopped directly in front of Kalibak catching him by surprise What’s the matter the Scarlet Speedster teased Am I bugging you The Flash grabbed the sword with both hands to wrestle it free but Kalibak had the tighter grip The sword wouldn’t budge Kalibak backhanded The Flash knocking him end over end His body bounced across the pavement before coming to a stop against a tree Kalibak raised the sword directly over The Flash and slashed downward CLANGG A shower of sparks erupted as metal clashed against metal Wonder Woman’s bracelets intercepted the sword locking it in place as she stood over The Flash to protect him You are no match for the power of this sword boasted Kalibak He applied his full weight to the sword Wonder Woman fell to one knee struggling to fend him off She can’t hold him back forever warned Batman Using his heat vision Superman shot lasers toward Kalibak They struck his green uniform but he stood unfazed While he holds the sword the magic of Excalibur protects him said Batman How can we stop him cried Superman Batman raised an eyebrow You can do more than use your eyes can’t you WHOOSH Superman unleashed his super breath A gale force wind lifted Kalibak off his feet
