Chapter 1 Spring One rainy spring morning Kitty stares out the window and drums a paw on the sill An hour later she gives a deep sigh It has been pouring for days she complains Rain is such a silly thing I wish it would just go away and we could have sunny skies forever Dragon raises his eyebrow Just like Kitty he is tired of being stuck inside But unlike her he does not think endless sunny days are such a good thing 2
Finally there is a break in the weather As the sun appears from behind the clouds Kitty and Dragon go outside Kitty steps into a puddle I hate it when my feet get wet she moans shaking off the muddy water It's just another reason why rain is the worst As he gazes at his grumpy friend Dragon gets an idea He decides to convince Kitty that rain isn't so bad Dragon walks to an overgrown patch of weeds next to the cave He inspects it for a long time Then he gets to work He draws a huge breath and lets out a blast of fire that clears the ground 3
