Alley Oops

Alley Oops tells the story of J.J., who has been bullying the new boy at school, Patrick. When he gets home, his father is furious and tells him a story about a boy he used to pick on in school. However, this lesson does not help J.J understand what his father is trying to teach him; rather, it irritates him. So, after dinner, J.J. goes out to find Patrick and is initially angry with him because he tipped him off, but the boys quickly start sharing stories with each other and discover a mutual interest. Alley Oops has a great message about bullying from the perspective of the bully. It conveys a powerful message with subtlety and grace, leaving readers with something to ponder over long after they've finished reading. The Alley Opps book is a fun read for young children that teaches them a valuable lesson while captivating them.
