Scaredy Monster tells Mommy Monster that he loves how every day feels like an adventure Mommy Monster smiles She has had a great time with Scaredy Monster too But then she reminds him that summer is nearly over Soon it will be autumn And this year Scaredy Monster will be going to school for the first time Scaredy Monster’s throat tightens He asks Mommy Monster if that means his summer fun is over Mommy Monster shakes her head She tells Scaredy Monster that she has planned three more adventures for him before school starts 4

Chapter 2 The Playground The next day Mommy Monster and Scaredy Monster go to the playground It is one of Scaredy Monster’s favorite places in the whole wide world He and Mommy Monster go there every Sunday It is a short walk down the hill from where they live When Scaredy Monster gets there he looks at everything he can do 7
