LETTERS Elinor had never heard of any female veterinarians Her friends and family said Women can't be vets That job was too rough too dirty and too gory But Elinor stood firm I can do this It was 1907 Times were changing Every year more women were graduating from medical school Why couldn't she be an animal doctor So Elinor sent out applications one after another to veterinary schools across the country
And one after another the replies all came back with the same answer No. All except one
