Nouns A noun is a person place or thing For example the characters Ben and his sister are nouns because they are people in the story Ben’s school is a noun it’s a place and so is his backpack it’s a thing Go through the rest of the story and see if you can find any more people places or things Making Connections Show and Tell In the story Benjamin brings in his baby sister for show and tell Why do you think he wanted to bring in his sister for show and tell If you could bring in one thing that was really important to you what would you choose After picking the item you would bring in for show and tell evaluate if it would be a good idea to bring it e g Is it easily lost Could you care for it at school Is it safe for school 3
