The Eden Mystery I PUT ARYA’S LETTER IN THE SIDE pocket of my backpack next to Âhâsiw who is safely tucked away I throw my backpack over my shoulder and hop out of Kôhkom’s old car We’re back from our last trip to town of the summer These days my adventures with Âhâsiw have been helping Kôhkom and playing with Eden and her cousin Avani in the woods My moccasins hit the 1 1
ground with a poof of dust rising up I like watching the dry earth dance in the air when I walk on these dirt roads
It’s been fun being back in the woods with Kôhkom even though I sure miss Arya I’ve also been missing Eden these days She has been too busy to hang out all week Most weeks Eden meets me at the car to help bring in the groceries but not today And last week Avani came to help instead about this mystery Maybe I should write my last letter to Arya I love to watch the dust settle behind Kôhkom’s car Sometimes I draw silly pictures on the car and wait to see if they’re still there when we drive into town again As much as I enjoy picking out a treat after a long day of running errands in town I can’t wait to get back to spend time with Eden and Avani 3
