The Adventures of Fern Book 2: Fern Goes to Summer Camp
nice to my friends especially Daisy I even showed Daisy some of my fairy locking techniques She's now almost as good as I am at fairy locking Almost Anyway let's talk about summer camp Any second third fourth or fifth grader from any school in our forest is allowed to go to Summer Camp as long as they have a passing grade Summer camp is held on the west side of the forest next to a um what do you humans call it Oh a campground That's it a campground Humans love campgrounds but fairies elves pixies sprites and gnomes do not I have never seen a human camp ground I've just heard stories about them I hear that humans drive into the 6
campground in noisy stinky big metal machines They build campfires fairies elves pixies sprites and gnomes do not like campfires Some humans trample all over the forest and leave their trash These are the reasons summer camp was started to teach fairies elves pixies sprites and gnomes mischief skills to annoy any RUDE campers enough that they never come back to the forest again
Chapter Two The School Fox Daisy and I wait outside my house for the school fox to take us to summer camp We both wear our Rowan Tree Summer Camp T shirts They are red the color of rowan tree berries and printed with our school logo My mom and dad are outside too to see us off Shimmer my sister is not going to summer camp this year She has just finished sixth grade so she is too old My mom fusses and tells me all the things I have to remember NOT to do Fern do NOT boss your friends around she says And do NOT leafboard down the
