Dear Diary It's our first full day at the cabin and Cosmo and I didn't want to waste a second of it We couldn't wait to go exploring so we quickly gobbled up our pancakes and got dressed Mom and Dad said we could go as long as we promised to stay on this side of the street and not go past the giant tree with the huge knot in it or the crumbling rock wall We also aren't allowed to cross the creek in the back But that gives us plenty of places to go Plus with our imaginations we can go anywhere

I filled my backpack with our scrapbook some colored pencils two apples exploring always makes us hungry and my binoculars They used to be Grandma Sadie's binoculars but she gave them to me to use whenever we're at the cabin I keep them here safely on a shelf so I gave them a good dusting when we arrived my walking Stick Then I chose a really sturdy walking stick It was stylish too because it had a little twist at one end We needed it to push branches aside and give me some extra help on the unsteady ground Holes and stuff are more difficult
