Halloween and in Grimbrook that really means something You see Halloween is the time when the veil between our world and the paranormal world is at its thinnest meaning spooky stuff is off the charts Snarly Yows run free in the woods and you can hear the cries from Crybaby Hollow all the way to Shadow Valley There's something in the air that sends a shiver down your spine and bids you walk home a little faster Basically it's prime paranormal investigating time Mason's busiest day of the year He takes it very seriously and can't be bothered with candy and silly costumes
Except as you know Mason and Iris are now officially friends and unlike Mason Iris is very much interested in candy and silly costumes So much so that Mason agreed to wear one of these silly costumes because that's what friends do It's unrelated to the fact that Iris refused to help Mason with his jam packed Halloween schedule if he didn't accompany her to Grimbrook Middle School's famous costume competition as her witch's familiar This sort of compromise was something Mason was not used to 6 TANGLEWOOD
Iris delivered on her promise and they did indeed have a jam packed day They'd poked around the cemetery baited Hodag traps and searched for three toed Grassman footprints The next thing on the list was something Mason was very personally invested in The quest to get his heart back Remember the fine print on the witch's contract The list of items Mason needs to find The first is a glimpse of one's true self A bit vague I know However luckily for Mason Iris thinks she knows exactly what they need to do and it ties into her plans perfectly TUNA MIDDLE SCHOOL So hold onto your hats because this tale picks up in a place I can barely bring myself to think about A place where countless horrors have occurred Somewhere truly dreadful
