CHAPTER 1 CHANGE OF SCENERY Treva Gallo didn’t like moving She hadn’t liked it when she was ten and her family moved to a house just outside of Philadelphia And she didn’t like it now at age fifteen moving back to Philadelphia to an apartment in the Passyunk Square neighborhood For one thing the apartment was a lot smaller than her old house For another it was really close to the city And most importantly she was moving away from her friends and her basketball teammates She climbed the two flights of stairs to her new home with a box of books wishing she had donated them instead of lugging them
across town Treva hip-checked the door to pop it open and walked through the tiny apartment to her new bedroom Being half the size of her old room the space was already filled with moving boxes With a grunt she tossed the box onto her mattress It bounced once and turned on its side dumping the contents across the stripped down bed Awesome Treva muttered She stood for a moment and looked at what she’d already brought up from the moving truck There were plenty more boxes where that one came from I need to get rid of some of my stuff Treva thought There was a shuffling sound in the hallway and she looked to find her dad coming down the hall with two large boxes The hallway was narrow making it difficult for him to navigate to his room
