AIRFISH 8 manufacturer Wigetworks date of production 2010 Nope it’s not taking off And no it’s not landing The cruising altitude for the Airfish 8 is only up to 23 feet 7 metres above water Technically it’s not an airplane at all or a boat or hov ercraft for that matter It’s a ground effect vehicle a hybrid that uses what’s known as the ground effect to glide just a few feet above the waves Powered by only a V8 car engine the Airfish 8 can carry 8 to 10 passengers and travel up to 122 miles 196 kilometres per hour three times faster than most cruiser style motorboats Although it’s still be ing tested Wigetworks hopes the Airfish will soon be used for tourism sea patrol and just about any marine travel you can think of In other words they hope it takes off See what I did there 10
