Ms Lilly smiled Kudos kudos kudos kiddos she exclaimed It is a clue and that's all I can tell you for now Then she wrote in large letters on the other side of the board Poetry loves words Ms Lilly told the class they would be studying poetry all week long She announced they would each have a poetry pal Blanca leaned across the aisle and whispered Hey Daisy let's be pals
Just as Daisy nodded yes Ms Lilly pulled a round glass fishbowl out of her straw bag She pushed the bowl to the front of her desk and asked Is everyone ready to go fishing I mean fishing for a poetry pal Daisy heard Jason groan Jason was a brainiac He earned all A's and never wanted to work with a partner Ms Lilly called Row one come on down Lizzie was the first one to pull a name She pulled out Amber's name Everyone liked Amber She was nice Two more kids went fishing and then it was Daisy's turn She had been chanting quietly Let it be Blanca let it be Blanca Daisy shoved her hand in the bowl and swirled it around three times Usually three was one of her lucky numbers Daisy pulled out the small folded paper She held her breath as she slowly opened it She saw neat black letters that spelled trouble
