PRO ADVICE Jeremy Durst of the Southern Oregon Jazz Orchestra recommends you get out of your comfort zone and play in different locations to prepare for an audition He said You need to be confident when auditioning and confidence comes with knowing you are not going to make a mistake If you want to be in a band You need to practice Be over prepared And be willing to take criticism Did You Know The type of music you play determines which instruments you need Every band will benefit from a drum bass guitar or keys Add some horns and you’ll create a whole new sound Most bands benefit from a talented vocalist 7
