Easy-to-Make Christmas for Kids — page 1 — Styrofoam Snowmen Decorations Materials Styrofoam cup body Styrofoam ball head Various pipe cleaners black and orange Push pins black Fabric Tacky glue Scissors Toilet paper cardboard roll Optional Feather boa material Faux fur Ribbon for outside of top hat Felt for rim of top hat Glitter glue Various buttons Wire for eyelashes Any other household materials that will make your snowman unique and cute Instructions Before you start 1 Cut a small hole in the bottom of the foam cup smaller than the Styrofoam ball just enough to balance the head 2 Use the tacky glue to border a line of glue around the hole in the Styrofoam cup 3 Place the Styrofoam ball over the hole making sure that the glue is touching the ball Allow time about 20 minutes for the head and body of your snowman to dry together Decorating 1 Arms Use a pipe cleaner and push through the side of the Styrofoam cup feeding the pipe cleaner through the center and out through the other side pulling the pipe cleaner until it is equal length on both sides 2 Nose cut a small piece of orange pipe cleaner and push into the Styrofoam ball where appropriate 3 Eyes use two push pins to press into the Styrofoam ball where appropriate for eyes 4 Mouth cut a small piece of pipe cleaner and bend at a 90 degree angle on both ends This creates a place where you can push the pipe cleaner into the Styrofoam ball forming a mouth where it is appropriate 5 Scarf Use any type of material faux fur and feather boa shown in picture to create a scarf for the snowman wrapping around the snowman’s head and using tacky glue to secure 6 Buttons You may use any materials that look nice as buttons If you don’t have anything handy use glitter glue or even a permanent marker to draw them on button and glitter glue shown in picture 7 Hat Cut about 2 inches of the cardboard toilet paper roll and decorate as desired ribbon shown in picture Once you have decorated the hat use tacky glue to secure the cardboard onto the top of the snowman’s head CRAFTS

Easy-to-Make Christmas for Kids — page 2 — Reindeer Cookies Ingredients 2 cups butter 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 6 teaspoons vanilla extract 6 cups sifted cake flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 bell-shaped cookie cutter Small pretzels M M Candies Instructions 1 Preheat oven to 450ºF 2 Mix butter and sugar well Add eggs one at a time Mix flour with baking powder and remaining ingredients Chill in refrigerator until firm the dough will be easier to roll Roll out the dough making sure not to roll it too thin Use cookie cutter to cut-out bell shapes from dough and bake in oven 5 to 7 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet Remove from cookie sheet and place on cooling rack 3 Once the cookies are out of the oven immediately take two pretzels and place on the top of the cookie as antlers Then place two M M Candies for the eyes and one for the nose on each reindeer Helpful Hint Store bought cookie dough may be used as well Snowman Treat Bag Materials Needed White paper lunch bag Construction paper black and orange Glue stick Scissors Glitter glue optional Extra embellishments optional ribbons bows glitter etc Instructions 1 Fold the top of the lunch bag down about one inch 2 Cut out shapes from the construction paper to create a top hat eyes nose and mouth of the snowman as shown in picture 3 Use glue stick to glue on the cut out construction paper pieces 4 Use any extra embellishments to personalize your snowman glitter glue and bow shown in picture Helpful Hints Watch your child to make sure they are not gluing on the side that will prevent them from opening the bag Make sure the materials are dry before trying to stand the bag upright and open CRAFTS
