FLOATING ON AIR ILLUSION The magician’s feet rise off the ground and he fl oats in the air 1 Prior to the trick the magician gets two small very strong magnets He tapes them inside his shoes along the inner walls duct tape works well for this Now when he brings his feet together the magnets will make contact and attract each other through the shoes The magician’s shoes should be large enough for him to slip his feet in and out easily 2 To perform the trick the magician takes a large towel in both hands and holds it at waist height He lets it fall to the fl oor allowing just the front of his shoes to show He holds his feet together so that the magnets make contact 6
3 The magician now secretly slips one foot out of its shoe and brings it down behind the shoe The towel will hide this action from the spectators MAGIC TIP Rehearse this trick in front of a full-length mirror 4 The magician slowly lifts up his other foot The empty shoe will rise with it giving the appearance that both feet are fl oating in the air He must not lift his foot too high or his shoeless foot will be exposed The towel should continue to rest on his shoes the entire time 7
