Turkey Hunting — page 1
A PRIZE Gobbler The morning sun rises over the woods A hunter crouches next to a tree He stays very still and listens carefully Suddenly he hears muffled yelps These are the sounds made by turkeys roosting in the trees above him The hunter slips a diaphragm call into his mouth He uses it to make purrs clucks and other hen sounds to attract a gobbler Soon he hears the flap of wings A turkey lands on the ground in front of him It is a large gobbler The turkey struts toward the hunter with his tail feathers fanned out The hunter slowly raises his shotgun takes aim and pulls the trigger A shot blasts through the air and the gobbler falls The hunter's aim was perfect As he carries the gobbler to his truck he thinks about his evening meal Wild turkey is definitely on the menu
