prey A shadow passes The jelly responds instantly extending its arms and tentacles and pumps its body in pursuit The shadow is a school of baby codfish A curious fish nips at a wormlike tentacle but the investigation turns deadly The entangled fish struggles for just a moment as poison races from the tentacle into the fish's body It will become the jellyfish's first meal of the day
