The Nose was mainly Nora’s idea It was built from papier-mâché and was the size of a kid’s playhouse When you pulled a lever on the side a bucket-load of purple snot sneezed out of the nostrils Nora liked the fact that it demonstrated the workings of the human immune system Everyone else just liked the fact that it was a giant nose Woodstock and Alexis were putting some finishing touches on The Nose as Nora sped past it and stood fuming with outrage next to it Whoa exclaimed Woodstock nearly dropping his paint Jake peeked around What’s up Nora The boy on the Ant Antics stand Nora said through gritted teeth It’s that dreadful know-it-all Isaac Einstein He thinks he knows everything there is to know about bugs How ridiculous is that Totally ridiculous Jake agreed Imagine if he wins Nora groaned He won’t because we’re going to win Alexis declared Our exhibit is educational and fun Isn’t it Nora

CHAPTER 2 Rule Bot A robot was standing in front of Jake The front of its head was a screen on which was displayed a very grumpy face A flashing blue police siren sat on its head Before Jake could move a sticker popped out of a slot in the robot’s tummy The robot shot a metal arm out grabbed the sticker and slapped it on Jake’s forehead A Sad Face exclaimed Karl What Jake peeled the sticker off It was indeed one of Mrs Blunt’s Sad Face stickers Sad Face stickers were given to students who broke the school rules If you got three Sad Faces you had to work on Mrs Blunt’s Rockery shifting heavy rocks VIOLATION OF RULE 63 NO SHOUTING the robot barked sounding suspiciously like an electronic Mrs Blunt It must be 5A’s project Nora cried It’s working now Woodstock groaned So that’s what the old dragon’s been hiding HEY The robot had planted a sticker on Woodstock’s chest VIOLATION OF RULE 27 NEVER CALL THE PRINCIPAL AN OLD DRAGON the robot rasped
