chapter 1 REDSTONE POWER For a redstone contraption to work there must be a source of power or redstone signal Some power sources send power constantly like redstone torches Other sources only emit power when they are turned on like a switch Some like buttons may only send a redstone signal for a short period of time Power sources send power to themselves the block space they are in and also usually to the blocks they are attached to Dif ferent power source items have slightly different rules about what blocks or block spaces they send power to Some power sources also power the blocks next to the block they are attached to These include buttons detector rails
