Mud City follows the life of Shauzia. She escapes the misery of her life in Kabul only to end up in a Pakistani refugee camp. She still wishes to visit the ocean and eventually make a new life in France. But it's difficult for her to picture it while she's living in the Widows' Compound of an overcrowded refugee camp outside of Peshawar. Shauzia ultimately makes the decision to escape the camp.
