1 Chapter SPOTLIGHTING SHERMAN The puck glided straight toward my goal At the last second I slid my mallet across the table and hit the puck Block It bounced against the side of the table and banked right into my opponent’s goal She never saw it coming Point I said as the electronic score on the side of the table switched from five to six Hope How do you do that my best friend Baylor Meece asked I’m not giving away all of my secrets I smiled One more point and I’d win If air hockey were an Olympic sport I’d have a wall of gold medals Baylor served So I’m getting new neighbors Cool I said keeping my eye on the puck One hit with my mallet sent it sliding back to Baylor 4
