1 THE YANKEES ARE DRESSED TO THRILL IN NEW YORK The New York Yankees are famous for their success They have won more championships than any other Major League Baseball MLB team They also are famous for their uniforms For more than 100 years their look has changed very little Theirs are one of the best-known uniforms in US sports The Yankees often are called The Pinstripes In 1912 thin vertical stripes were added to the team’s white home uniforms These are called pinstripes Just a few years earlier the team had adopted an interlocking N and Y as its logo By 1912 that logo was displayed on the left chest of the uniforms It was added to the caps too The uniform changed slightly in the 1920s and 1930s But today Yankees players wear a uniform similar to the one from 1912 You say pinstripes and the first thing that comes to most people’s mind is the Yankees 4 Derek Jeter in 2008 said former New York shortstop Derek Jeter There’s just
