a night in the forest Are there lots of savage wild animals Jake asked Yeah and what about monsters Jay said excited and frightened at the same time The trio’s twittering amused Red There isn’t anything more terrifying out here than that little frog over there And besides you have me to protect you And I’ve never been afraid of anything in my life Red proclaimed puffing out his chest This declaration made Jim Jake and Jay glance at each other Never been afraid of anything We’ll have to do something about that Jim whispered to the others giggling The sun was already beginning to go down as they finally arrived at the campsite Red had chosen Red turned around to start issuing orders to set up camp only to find the brothers had disappeared Not again he said a pig from the stars and other stories 7
a night in the forest Then Jim Jake and Jay jumped out one by one howling like hungry ghosts Jim came from behind a bush Jake down from a branch of a tree and Jay from a hole he had dug in the ground Wooooo wooooo Red sighed You were frightened We did it the brothers exclaimed No I wasn’t said Red Now get the tent poles set up he ordered Jim Jake and Jay got down to work Jay had an idea They could use the tent parts for something else I’ll be the head Jake can be the body and Jim will be the tail Jay whispered to the others In the meantime Red was relaxing in his own tent This was the first time in a while when he didn’t need to worry about guarding the eggs Red let out a big yawn and closed his eyes 8 a pig from the stars and other stories
