6 Streamlined swimmers There are more than 30 different species types of dolphins and they all look different There are spotted dolphins and striped dolphins Some dolphins are black and white others are blue and a few are pink They vary greatly in size ranging from 4 feet 1 2m to more than 13 feet 4m long All dolphins have sleek streamlined bodies They also have powerful tails divided into two lobes or flukes Most dolphins have a fin on the back that helps keep them from rolling over as they swim On each side of the body behind the head is a flipper Dolphins use their flippers to steer The blowhole Most dolphins have a snout or beak Dolphins cannot breathe through their mouths like us that way only leads to the stomach Instead they breathe through a hole on the top of 1 Dolphins breathe through the blowhole on top of the head These are bottlenose dolphins
