Being Frank recounts the story of Frank, who lives by the motto, "Honesty is the best policy." He never lies to his classmates, and he believes that everyone should abide by that. He never shies away from being blatantly honest like how his friend's freckles look like the Great Dipper or how his mother has wrinkles. He even tells his teacher's breath smells like onions. But they are all sick of Frank's honesty, and he understands he needs to learn some tact. Being Frank book follows a small boy as he learns the importance of being polite. It teaches children that lying is unacceptable. However, telling the truth does not excuse you for being rude. The Being Frank book is a realistic take on how one can hurt others without intending to. It teaches children to treat others with kindness. Being Frank book also aids in a child's development as a person.
